When it rains, it pours! Started off with shooting a very large Jack and then I drive up the street and am able to shot a very large Stingray!
This particular Stingray is a Bullnose. You can tell because of the shape of it's head and fins. Bullnose Stingrays are found in the Gulf of Mexico but are more common in the Atlantic Ocean.
Adult males get between 30 - 35" and although I did not measure, this particular Ray looks to be that size and felt every bit of it... Note to anyone looking to shoot a larger ray - Prepare to fight! You can tell from the video that bringing the Ray on land was quite the struggle and took a bit of time. It pulled with such force that I was worried it would rip off or even pull me in!
As always, this was shot with my Cajun Sucker Punch bow with an AMS Retriever Pro Reel. The video was filmed with a GoPro Hero 3 attached to a Muzzy Reel Seat.
