The Long Con: Day 2: Chumming

Here we are at Day 2 of "The Long Con" and I'm actually a little surprised at the results...

Nothing Earth shattering has happened (it's only the second day) but I definitely felt like there were more fish eating, as well as larger ones. Obviously the fish haven't gotten bigger in one day, but I do think it's possible that some of the larger Mangrove Snapper and Catfish are coming from farther away.

Still only Catfish and Snapper showed up. I was hoping for a Jack or two but no such luck.

What I decided to do today as well was Chum. I figured I might as well draw in as much fish as possible with the chum and then feed them with the hot dogs.

I purchased this Tournament Master Chum at Publix for $8. I was definitely disappointed that it didn't come in a bag that I could just throw into the water. Luckily I have a minnow trap that I ended up putting the chum into and it worked pretty well.

Tournament Mast Chum Block

Long story short... Not impressed at all. I felt like I had more fish during the traditional feeding than were drawn in with the Chum block.

I'll be posting a review of the chum shortly...

Check back daily for updates on The Long Con.
