Day 1 of "The Long Con" experiment is upon us. If you are not familiar with what I am looking to do, check out the link.
Since this is the first day, I need to figure out what I will feed the fish and when. As far as the "what" - I've decided on hot dogs cut into small pieces. I thought about a bunch of different foods including chicken and dog food. I landed on hot dogs because 1 - they are easy to cut and 2 - they are unbelievably cheap. I was able to get a pack for $0.89 at the Walmart Neighborhood Market (Walmart Grocery Store).
I couldn't land on an ideal time for "when" so I decided I would do 3 feedings a day with a couple of handfuls of food. I do one around 9AM, one around 12/1PM and a final one at 5PM.
Here is a picture of the first feeding on the first day.
As you can see, they know there is food and they are interested, but they are mostly swimming around underneath it. It may be hard to see in the picture but the only fish that showed up are Catfish and Mangrove Snapper.
Check back tomorrow for Day 2...
